Mission & Values
In 2016 the leadership of Grace Community Church went through a visioning process, seeking clarity about God’s direction for this particular congregation in this particular community at this particular time.
Congregational surveys were completed, focus groups and interviews were held, and community demographic analysis was done, the results of which were used to formulate statements of our values and mission, and to begin the process of transforming the mission statement into a mission strategy with specific steps for implementation in the day to day work of the church.
The values that follow are the foundation from which we’re launched into God’s mission for us:
- We are Christ-Centered.
- We are defined and guided by the Word of God.
- We are committed to being, making, and growing disciples of Jesus as part of our everyday lives – in our homes, across the street, and around the world.
- We are a welcoming family of believers, compassionately loving in grace across generations and cultures.
- We strive to lead lives of integrity as modeled by Christ.
- We celebrate God’s glory.
These biblically-based values will define and guide who we are and how we worship and work as a church . . . striving to fulfill the Great Commandment and the Great Commission of our Lord in our unique way by:
connecting with our community,
and connecting our community with Jesus.
We hope you’ll join us as we seek to live out this mission!
As my family and I have been praying for a place of worship that we can call home, we experienced the Holy Spirit guiding us here to Grace. Since day one we have been so blessed and felt like we belonged, but as Christians we should always ask for confirmation and direction from God. The new mission of the church did just that. After a long time my prayer had been answered! The time is now for us to preach the Word of God like we never have before and the best part of it is that we don’t need a pulpit to do this. I believe that actions do speak louder than words and through something as simple as that we reflect Who Jesus is. Therefore, embracing this mission should be our number one priority! Loving God, loving people, connecting with our community, and connecting our community with Jesus. – Rick Brito
