How Can I Know God?

The Bible is a love story and it’s written just for you. In it, God reveals Himself and describes our perfect relationship with Him and how it was lost due to sin. As a result mankind has a problem. Read Romans 3:23. God says,

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

It’s not a matter of certain people being worse than others. Everyone’s sinned against God. Since each one of us has this problem, what can we do about it?

The good news is that God provided a solution. Read 1 John 4:9. There we learn,

“This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.”

He loved us so much that He gave us the gift of His Son Jesus to die for us, and take the punishment for sin that we deserve.

So what do we do with this gift of God’s grace? Receive it and respond in faith and gratitude. God’s given you the free gift of His perfect love, acceptance, and forgiveness. Read John 1:12. God says,

“Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”

Where do I go from here?

God wants you to know Him and to know how much He loves you. God wants to have a real, interactive, daily relationship with you. Here’s some things you can do to grow in your relationship with God:

Tell someone about your relationship with God. Talk with a pastor or trusted friend who shares your faith so they can encourage you in your walk. Would you like to talk to Pastor Jason? Click here.

Pray. The way believers talk with God is through prayer. Don’t worry about saying the exact right words. We’d love to be praying for you. Click here to send us a note or prayer request.

Read God’s Word. Don’t feel you have to tackle the whole Bible at once. There are many versions that are written in easy to understand language. Visit a local bookstore or check out the YouVersion or Read Scripture apps to find one you’re comfortable with. We’d suggest reading the gospel of John or Mark first.  Click here if you’d like a New Testament to help you get started. Did you know the Bible is filled with promises of hope and joy?

Join a Grace Group. One way to start learning more about God and your faith is to join a small group where you can study and pray with other believers in a safe and relaxed group. If you’d like to learn more about our Grace Groups you can click here.

Please be in touch to let us know how we can help you as you discover the joy and excitement of living for God. We’d be honored to welcome you in worship with us any Sunday you’re able to be here. If you’d like to give us a heads up that you’ll be coming, we’ll make sure to connect you with someone who can show you around and answer any questions you might have.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
