Director of Senior Adult Ministry

Status:  Part-time hourly position without benefits
Hours:  9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Tuesday and seven additional hours off-site weekly

Requirements:

  • Professing and practicing Christian who claims and strives to live the beliefs of Grace Community Church
  • Genuine appreciation for senior adults and their needs, hopes, and concerns
  • Comfort/confidence in initiating contact with senior adults and setting up personal visits with them
  • Comfort/confidence in visiting in homes, hospitals, retirement homes, and nursing facilities
  • Comfort/confidence in ministering to individuals and families during death and grief
  • Ability to work in an independent and flexible manner
  • Friendly, approachable, positive personality with ability to handle confidential and delicate situations

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Visit and/or call the homebound and other senior adults of Grace in their homes, hospitals, retirement homes, and/or nursing facilities with goal of 7 hours of visiting time per week and visits to all homebound at least 3-4 times per year
  • Serve as primary staff liaison for Seniors of Grace planning team, Homebound Visitation team, St. Andrews Communion Luncheons, and all other activities, programs, and events for senior adults
  • Attend weekly staff meetings at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays
  • With Director of Communications, produce a one-page newsletter twice a year to communicate with senior adults
  • Other duties as assigned by the Pastor

Administrative Assistant

Status:  Part-time hourly position without benefits
Hours:  9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday

Requirements:

  • Professing and practicing Christian who claims and strives to live the beliefs of Grace Community Church
  • Office administration skills including competence in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign) and ACS Technologies experience a plus
  • Friendly, approachable, positive personality with ability to handle confidential and delicate situations
  • Excellent organization and communication skills and a driven work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to take the initiative to assist all staff members
  • Ability to respond in a timely manner to numerous requests for assistance from staff, congregation, and community
  • Familiarity with operation and basic maintenance of office equipment

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as receptionist answering the main phone line and welcoming guests to the office
  • Provide administrative support for all staff of the church
  • Cross-train and provide mutual support with/for the other administrative staff
  • Provide administrative support for non-staff church leaders as needed and directed by the Pastor
  • Receive and distribute mail daily
  • Process mailing projects
  • Ensure office space, lobby, work room, storage closets, and small kitchen are de-cluttered and organized on a daily basis
  • Maintain office supplies and office kitchen supplies
  • Stock printed material stations around campus regularly
  • Maintain membership roll electronically, including updating and adding contact information to ACS and Mailchimp
  • Oversee facility use requests and scheduling of rooms
  • Serve as the primary administrative communication link for all property related matters, including A/C, pest control, sanctuary plants, outside groups, etc.
  • Prepare Sunday morning worship boxes (bulletins, handouts, attendance sheet, deposit bag)
  • Other administrative duties as assigned by the Pastor
